"Heart of Gold" was a perfect self exploration. I wanted to create something that is quintessentially me: something vibrant, expressive, red, luscious colours and with a creative design in the heart of it. And of course it had to be Gold. The middle panel has a resemblance to our human heart with red titanium coloured crystal clusters, surrounded by the clear crystal chips and flakes of Gold leaf. The design was a collaboration between myself and my carpenters. I wanted to create a "ripped out heart" effect, savaged but still beautiful and intact.
